It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ruby Rozak announce her passing on January 29, 2024, in her 87th year and with her family by her side.

Ruby was born to Ed and Dorothy Frederick on June 29, 1937 and she grew up near Tompkins, Saskatchewan. She was the oldest of three children, Albert and Louise being her siblings. The family moved to the Woodville district in 1946.

Ruby married Frank Rozak in 1953 and in the spring of 1954 moved to section SE 9-12-29 in the Mossgiel district where they farmed for the next 46 years.

Son Wes and wife Coralie took over the farm in 2000 when Frank and Ruby retired to Elkhorn.

Ruby served on the Hospital Auxiliary and with the Legion ladies for a number of years. She enjoyed helping when she could as long as she could be in her favorite spot—the kitchen!

Ruby and Frank also went to the Anglican church and while they were able, they kept the church sidewalk clear of snow on Sundays in the wintertime.
Ruby was a hard working woman who kept an immaculate home and was a wonderful cook and baker. She also always had a beautiful garden. Her door was always open to family and friends and we remember her delicious home cooked meals and baking.

Nothing pleased her more than when her grandkids and later on her great-grandkids could come and stay with her. She fed them her ginger sparkle cookies, chocolate banana muffins, and homemade bread and cinnamon buns.

Family was so important to her and all of us knew how much she loved us, and we loved her right back. She had a special knack to make each one of us feel like we were her favorite and that is not an easy thing to do but she did it!
Ruby is survived by daughter Laura (Maxwell), Gordon (Damon), Nicole (Ben Wood) (Frederick, Theo), Michael (Tara); son Ken, Douglas (Sabrina), (Kayden, Karlie and Kinslee); son Brad (Donna), Tracey (Jonathan, Zachary), Kimberley (Ashley, Michelle); daughter Cheryle (Darling), Kendra (Mike Whetter), (Noah, Cole, Maelie), Saundra (Will Parrott), (Josie, Ella, Miles, Gus); son Wes (Coralie), Randy and Clayton.

Ruby was predeceased by her parents Ed and Dorothy Frederick, in-laws Alex and Anna Rozak, husband Frank in 2020, her brother Albert Frederick and his wife Jean, and sister Louise and husband Chuck Kreps, brother-in-law Wesley, sister-in-law Josephine and her husband Bill Saville, and sister-in-law Irene and her husband Ed Paull, nieces Sandra (Wilson), Jo-Ann, Coleen, nephew Alex Saville, and great-niece Joleen Saville.

A graveside family funeral will be held at a later date.

For those who wish, donations may be made to Huntington Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice in Ruby’s memory.

Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Virden in care of the arrangements.
