Mary Matilda DeRoo passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre on December 24, 2013.

She was born on February 1, 1929 in Deloraine, Manitoba to Benjamin and Martha Allemeersch. She met André DeRoo at a dance in Boissevain. They married on May 1, 1951 and moved to a small farm at Croll, Manitoba. They had two sons born in Deloraine, Daniel (died at three months) and Dennis. They then moved to Fairlight where three more boys were born; Wayne, Garry and Dean.

When they weren’t too busy on the farm, Mary and Andy travelled together, visiting Europe and parts of the U.S., and spent a lot of time visiting with friends and neighbors from Fairlight to Deloraine. Mary was also active in the church in Fairlight and with the Catholic Women’s League for Many years.

Mary is predeceased by her husband, André, son Daniel and stepsisters Marie Louise and Jose. She is survived by her sister Madelaine (Dave) Wall of Deloraine, brother Lawrence (friend Marilyn Stovin) Allemeersch of Deloraine, sons Dennis (Dree) of Fairlight, Wayne (Carol) of Fairlight, Garry (Jan) of Battleford and Dean (Cheryl) of Kelso. She is also survived by grandchildren Brian (Danielle), Pamela (Richard Armstrong), Andrea, Michael, Melissa, Skylar and Briana, great-grandson Kaden and many nieces and nephews.
