The family of Keith Lewis is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather on February 14 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Keith was born on May 30, 1943 and lived his life on Woodside farm at Vandura, Saskatchewan.
He proudly represented the third generation on the family farm. Keith farmed, operated a seed cleaning plant for many years and, later in life, worked for Saskatchewan Municipal Hail Insurance.

Keith’s wife of 41 years, Bertha, loved him dearly. His children Tricia and spouse Keith Bolton of Calgary, Alberta, and Vanessa and spouse Marlin Flavel of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, will profoundly miss him. Granddaughter, Sela Helen Flavel, brought great joy to his life.

Keith had a life-long thirst for knowledge and a commitment to taking action on the many causes that he was passionate about. He was a member of the Saskatchewan and Canadian Canola Growers Association, the Western Canadian Seed Growers Association, the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange, the Moosomin Mainline Terminal and, more recently, the Saskatchewan Archeological Society. In 2013, Keith received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for community service.

The family would like to thank those who generously provided comfort and care in Mexico, including Rogelio, Natasha and Elliott Garcia Rios, the Villa Del Mar family, Dennis and Norma Lamontagne, and Tricia Lewis and Keith Bolton.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held on Monday, February 24, at 2:30 p.m. in the Moosomin Armoury Hall. The interment will take place on the same day at 1 p.m. in the Fairmede Church Cemetery.

Donations in Keith’s memory may be made to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Saskatchewan Archeological Society.
