Adolf Kempin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 with his wife Edith by his side.

Adolf was born in Tomaszaw Poland to Reinhold and Sophia (Ikert) Kempin. His parents and older sister Martha emigrated to Canada in 1928 and settled in the farming district south of Wapella.
In 1939 Reinhold passed away leaving a lot of responsibility of the farm to Adolf at the early age of 13.

In 1950 he married Edith Beutler. They were blessed with four children: Laverne, Elaine, Jennifer and Torrey.

Farming was his life. In 1956 Adolf and Edith purchased a farm in Eden the Grove District and they were involved full time on the farm until their move to Moosomin in 2001 when Torrey and Shannon took over the farm. Up until a year ago, Adolf was able to and enjoyed going to the farm to lend a helping hand.

He loved working the land and had a special gift when it came to working with Charlois cattle. He later sold the herd and went into Elk farming.

Adolf was involved with the Church of the Nazerine and Christian Business Men’s Fellowship. He also enjoyed skating, fishing, playing his accordion and cheering for the Edmonton Eskimos.
He was predeceased by his father Reinhold Kempin, mother Sophia Pipke, step-father Bill Pipke, parents-in-law William and Elza Beutler, sister and brother-in-law Martha and Ed Garn, brother and sister-in-law Harold and Freida Kempin, granddaughter Tamara Bateman and brothers-in-law Richard Baynes and Jack McLean.

He will be missed by his wife Edith, daughters Laverne (Mark), Elaine, Jennifer (Lyndon); son Torrey (Shannon) and their families including seven grandsons, eight granddaughters, two great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters, a half brother Bill (Linda) Pipke and by many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and freinds.
