George "Winston" McGonigal

In loving memory of Mr. George "Winston" McGonigal who passed away peacefully at home with family in Ailsa Craig, Ontario on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the age of 70.
Winston was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan on August 21, 1943. Growing up in Moosomin he worked on the family farm and loved playing hockey with his brothers and friends. In his early years his love for new experiences took him to Calgary and Lethbridge, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1972 Winston married Anna (Digulla) in Englehart, Ontario where they settled and farmed until 2012. Throughout the years he worked for various pipeline and construction companies as a proud member of the Teamster’s Union. Over the last eight years, Winston enjoyed retirement, spending his winters in Phoenix, Arizona with family and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Robert and Jean McGonigal and brothers Jim and Harvey.
He is survived by his wife Anna, sons Kevin (Angela), and Ian (Julie), his grandchildren Owen (Kevin and Angela), Aiden and Reese (Ian and Julie). Also by his brothers David (Nora), John, Dennis, Bert (Rosie) and sisters Helen and Evelyn.
The funeral service was held at the Englehart Arena Complex on July 21, 2014. Interment to follow later this year at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Chamberlain Township, Ontario.
