James (Jim) Hugh Scott passed away December 21, 2014 at the Southeast Integrated Care Center in Moosomin surrounded by his family. Jim was born April 22, 1938 at home in Little Bluff. His parents, Donald and Chris, moved to the family farm in the Hillburn District in 1945 where Jim attended school in Rocanville. As Jim grew he found himself working for neighboring farmers and even worked as far away as Unity.

On June 30, 1960 he married Florence "Ellen" Ferguson, daughter of Garnet and Alberta Ferguson of the Marchwell District, at Tantallon United Church Manse. Jim and Ellen resided in Rocanville where they raised their family of four.

Jim enjoyed camping, especially at Welwyn Lake, making cookies, travelling, and he had a passion for garage sales and auctions. Jim worked at Symons’ Metal Works and took great pride in producing quality metal products. He then took a position as a grader operator for Duncan Construction where both Jim and Ellen worked together.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Donald and Chris; his in-laws Garnet and Alberta; and his wife Ellen at an early age; brothers-in-law Gerry, Lloyd and Garnet Ferguson, Fred Baseley; Mary and Wilfred Austman; nieces and nephews Trent Stanhope, Lyle Duncan, Cameron Scott, and Debbie Schappert.

Jim leaves to mourn his sons James (Joanne), Gordon (Brenda), and Dennis (Nat); daughter Darlene (Brent) Minty; grandchildren Jason, Justin, Kristin (Courtenay), Brittany, Mathew (Nicole), Christopher, Adam (Lauren), Ricki-Lee (Matthew), Joey, Jamie (Brock), Lindsey (Greg), Tyler; great grandchildren Kaige, Javin, Vanessa, Sam, Kiara, Mia, Cole, Brooke, Kash, Hadley, Karter, Hailee, and Cooper; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; brother Rob (Myrna); sister Joan (Norman) Stanhope; brothers-in-law Dave (Anna), Alex and Roy (Debbie) Ferguson; sisters-in-law Joan Ferguson, Sharon Ferguson, Evelyn Baseley, Alice (John) Ireland, Peggy (Cameron) Duncan, Verna (Jerry) Bjorgan, Lorraine Huber (Gerry Gelowitz).

Jim’s family would like to thank the staff of Moosomin’s Care Center for their exceptional care for Jim in his final days.

Interment will occur at Ingleside Cemetery during a private family gathering later in the spring.
