Eleanor Bearance of, first, the farm north of Welwyn, and then, for the last four decades of her life, Rocanville, after bravely meeting the demands of the last throes of arthritis, dementia, infirmity, and organ failure passed away peacefully in long-term care in Moosomin at sunrise.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Clarence (in 1970) and Maymie (in 1991) Atkins, and by her beloved husband of 65 years, John in December 2010.
She is survived by her daughter Twila (Ken) Reavie of Rocanville; grandson Troy (Amber), great-grandson Nash, and great-granddaughter Marty of Langenburg; grandson Scott (Heidi), and great-granddaughter Rylee of Regina; grandson Cory (Lindsay) of Regina; and her son Trevor of Rocanville.

Especially while younger she participated in all the sports and social activities of her times and communities. She enjoyed simple, basic things: farm dogs, cooking, keeping a tidy house, and putting clothes out on the line. Eleanor loved family and friends with the utmost best she could manage and give for an entire lifetime; given what this world can do to the hearts of daughters, wives, mothers, and grandmothers, no other achievements need be listed, nor could greater ever be found.

A funeral service was held Saturday, June 27 in Carscadden Funeral Chapel in Moosomin followed by interment in Welwyn Cemetery. A lovely lunch was provided by C.R.O.W. in the Welwyn rink Eleanor’s father had cut an opening ceremony ribbon for 60-plus years earlier. Her family very much appreciated everyone who attended as well as the cards and gifts of food from many others.
