Sean Patrick Hogg was born in Peterborough, Ontario on October 5, 1965 to the late Edward Hogg senior and his wife Elsie. Sean was the youngest of 11 siblings. He grew up in the family homes in Cavan and Millbrook, Ontario attending North Cavan public school and high school at Crestwood in Peterborough, Ontario.

After graduation Sean left Ontario in 1984 and followed his sisters Donna and Brenda to Rocanville. Sean worked as an oil patch driver for Three Star Trucking in the Redvers and Alida areas. This is where he met Lisa Sobry whom he married in 1991.From this marriage Sean’s daughter Melissa was born in 1992. Sean also gained two stepchildren from this marriage, Curtis and Crystal Rhodes, who continue to call Sean dad and friend.

In 1991 Sean met Kim and in 2001 they were married. Sean also added a stepson Jesse to his family at this time. After getting married Sean, Kim, Melissa and Jesse lived in Moosomin where Sean enjoyed his time as a stay at home dad. He kept himself busy trying to keep track of who was where and which one of the kids had to be at ball practice, singing lessons, skating lessons, hockey practice, and drama productions. Sean also enjoyed spending time with family and friends on camping trips, evenings visiting and family outings.

After dealing with diabetes from the age of eight, Sean was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2003 and had to travel into Regina and Brandon three times a week for hemo dialysis. Once he changed to home dialysis, Sean was able to continue being involved in the day to day adventures of his family. In 2009 when the home dialysis stopped working for Sean he had to move to the Wascana Rehab centre in Regina so he could return to the hemo dialysis and not have to worry about having to find someone to drive.
