Precious in the eyes of the Lord

Doris Knowles passed away peacefully on March 6, 2013, at the age of 85 after a six-month battle with cancer.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Christine (Derek) Jacobs, Linda (Mark) Little, Robert (Erin) Knowles and Wendy (Eddie) Malone; grandchildren Jennifer (Cody) Getz, Scott (Jam) and David Little, Lauren, Victoria, Kassandra and Taylor Knowles; great-grandchildren Jacob Getz, KC and Max Little; sisters Aileen Belva and Helen Splane; sister and brother-in-law Dave and Alice Parker of Maryfield, sisters-in-law Madeline Adair of Saskatoon and Doris Knowles of Winnipeg and grandpets Molly, Rascal, Snip and Timmy.

Doris was predeceased by her husband Alan, parents Herb and Margaret Adair, sister Corinne and brothers Ab, Ernie, Lou, Bert, Alvie and Gordon.

Doris spent her entire life in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan where she excelled as a homemaker and farm wife. About 30 years ago, she and Alan sold the farm and moved into Maryfield for their retirement years.

Her special interests were gardening, especially flowers, traveling to visit her children, taking pictures, playing cards and watching curling and baseball.

Doris was a kind and supportive Mom and friend, and we'll all miss her.

Her funeral was held on Saturday, March 9 at the Maryfield Associated Gospel Church with interment in the Maryfield Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Sunrise Villa in Maryfield and the palliative care unit in the South East Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin for their excellent and compassionate care.
