It is with great sadness that Rita’s family announces the passing of their wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Rita passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2015 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Rita was an amazingly strong, very loved and compassionate woman who was very involved in her community.
She is survived by her husband Newell; daughters Laurel (Derek), Lana (Ken), and Loretta; grandchildren Tim (Shannon), Katlynn (Cory), Nicole, Allen, and Sydney; great-grandchildren Cooper, Kailen, and Airah; siblings Patricia, Grant (Marj), and Ray (Gloria); numerous nieces and nephews as well as many close friends.
A celebration of Rita’s life was held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Bethel United Church in Moosomin, Sask.
A very special thank you to Dr. Kerkhoff, Dr. Mercia, pharmacist Karen McKay and the awesome nursing staff at the Moosomin hospital for the loving and compassionate care given to our family. This community is so blessed to have these very special and dedicated professionals.
Newell would like to add a very special thank you to their close personal friends for the gifts of food, flowers and the emotional support.
