It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Betty Grant, on September 10, 2015 in Bashaw, Alta. at the age of 80 years.
Betty was born to Thomas and Isabella Martin in the Willen district where she was raised and took her schooling.
In 1950 she married Neil Grant. They farmed until 1990. After divorcing, Betty moved to Virden working as a sales lady for Kullbergs for many years where she enjoyed meeting people.
In 1993 she married Ed Gilchrist and was widowed in 2013.
Betty was very much involved in the community and was still active in palliative care at the time of her death. Betty enjoyed her family, spending hours knitting, crocheting and visiting as well as texting.
Interment was held on September 17, 2015 at the Elkhorn cemetery.
Betty will be sadly missed by her children Gordon (Claudia), Betty Ann (Jim), Sylvia (Gary), Barbara (Herb), and Larry (Shawna); step children Debbie (George), Patti (Wayne), Bob (Julie), and Susan (Steve); her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, and all her special friends.
