Dorothy Anne Spurr of Rocanville, Saskatchewan, beloved wife of the late Wilson Spurr, passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the age of 83 years.

Dorothy was born on July 11, 1932 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. She lived there with her family and was the youngest of eight siblings. She moved to Geraldton and worked in her dad’s menswear store, where she met the love of her life, Wilson Spurr.

They had four sons: Dave, Don, Darcy and Rick. Dorothy and Wilson raised their family in Geraldton and then moved to Rocanville to farm. While Wilson was busy farming, Dorothy continued her love of fashion, working at clothing stores in Moosomin. She was an active member of the Pathfinder Unit of the UCW.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Kahlil and Frieda Assad; loving husband Wilson; infant son Darcy; brothers Bill, Allan and Ken; sisters Mary, Sophia and Alice.

She leaves to mourn her sons Dave (Heather and Katie), Don (Mary) and Rick (Leanne); daughter-in-law Melodie; six grandchildren: Mike (Crystal), Jenna, Jeff, Melissa, Ashley and Allyson; two great-grandchildren Nash and Kade; her brother Fred; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held in St. Paul’s United Church, Rocanville on Thursday, October 22 at 2 p.m. with Dawn Wilson officiating. Private interment was in Webster Cemetery.
