Alyx Chantal Johnson (nee Poirier) was born on Friday, August 25, 1978, in Moosomin, SK, and passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, in La Ronge, SK, at the age of 37 years.

Alyx is survived by her loving family, her husband, Terence Johnson of Air Ronge, SK, her mother, Sheila Dobson of Moosomin, SK, her father, Jean-Nil Poirier of L’Ange-Gardien, QC, her sisters, Ashly (Mike) Wagner of Meadow Lake, SK, and their children, Cadence and Callie, and Annique (Cole Jacobs) Poirier of Whitewood, SK, her mother-in-law, Eileen Johnson of La Ronge, SK, her sister-in-law, Michelle Johnson of La Ronge, SK, and her children, Taryn and Kree, and her grandparents, Vincent and Dorothy Dobson of Moosomin, SK, and Isabel Ratt of La Ronge, SK, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Clarence Johnson, her nephew (in infancy), Carson Cole Jacobs, her grandmaman, Marie-Laure Blouin, her grandpapa, Georges Poirier, and her aunt, Danielle Poirier.

Alyx was raised at Welwyn, SK and took all of her schooling in Rocanville, SK. She graduated in 1996 and moved to Regina to take the Dental Assistant Course. Upon completion, she moved to La Ronge where she began her first job at the Boreal Dental Clinic with Dr. Joseph Firak.

Terence and Alyx were married in the Dominican Republic on March 14, 2003. They enjoyed many happy memories in their 12 years as husband and wife.

When Alyx could no longer dental assist due to illness, she fought back each time and worked at the La Ronge Health Centre and lastly at the La Ronge Medical Clinic. She worked tirelessly for the La Ronge Food Bank of which she was passionate, even delivering hampers when she was not feeling well herself. All those that knew her and worked with her loved her smile and enthusiasm, not knowing of her struggle with her health.

Prayer service was held at 7 p.m., on Thursday, January 14 at the La Ronge Lutheran Fellowship. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, January 15 at the La Ronge Lutheran Fellowship. Pastor Cody Cooper officiated. Interment took place in the La Ronge and District Cemetery.
