Bill passed away peacefully at home January 3, 2016.

He was born April 18, 1943 in Moosomin, Sask, the youngest of six children to Jack and Alice Rushton. He attended Hillburn School, farmed on the family farm as well as being a very busy carpenter.

Bill was active in the Baptist Church, spending many hours on the construction of the addition.

On Dec. 30, 1969, he married Beverly Mattila. After living in Moosomin and Kirksville, Missouri, they returned to their family farm in 1973, where Bill built their own home.

Bill leaves fond memories and will be sadly missed by wife Bev, children and grandchildren: Tryphena (Trevor) Hachey, Kiera and Owen; Ernest (Leanne) Rushton, Madalyn, Seth, Macy; Patrick (Mitsy) Rushton, Anna; Tiyanna Rushton (James Baird), Penny; brother Ben (Wylda) Rushton, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

In spite of life’s many challenges, Bill always maintained a positive “never give up” attitude. He possessed tremendous patience, strength and kindness. He enjoyed maintaining the yard, gardens and fruit trees, spending a multitude of hours tilling and mowing.

He loved and took great pride in his children, their spouses and his grandchildren, always interested in their activities and encouraging them.

Bill enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, keeping the coffee pot on!

A memorial service was held January 16, 2016 at Moosomin Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mel Konkel officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

The family extends a sincere, heartfelt thank-you to all for the tremendous support, visits, food, cards, etc. throughout Bill’s journey. God bless each of you.
