John passed away suddenly in Meadow Lake, as a result of heart issues, on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the age of 59 years. He is survived by and sadly missed by his sister, Heather (Barry) Anderson of Saskatoon and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Although he never had any children of his own, John loved children.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Eva Broadley.

John was raised in Moosomin and received his elementary and high school education there before going to Saskatoon to train as a funeral director.

He moved to Meadow Lake and spent the last 40 years there working as a funeral director as well as owning and managing a number of businesses.

John served on the Town Council from 1982 until being elected Mayor in 1994. He held that position until 1997.

John was President and served on the Executive of the Meadow Lake Chamber of Commerce. During the time John lived in Meadow Lake he was a Team Manager and executive member of the Meadow Lake Stampeders. He was active in Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed all their activities.
