It is with fond memories and deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother Victor Kennedy, on Wednesday February 17, 2016, at the age of 90, at Wolseley Lakeside Nursing Home.
Vic was born at Outram, Saskatchewan, to William and Johanna Kennedy.
Vic is survived by his children Brent (Jo-ann) Kennedy, Keith (Helena) Kennedy, Rita (Doug) Hayes, Ann (Alvin) Hebert and Valerie (Liam) Choo-Foo. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren Ashley (Karlin) and Vicki (Jared); Jonathan (Melissa) and Robb (Natalie); Blair (Deanna), Chad (Kaylyn), Allison and Chelsea; Kennedy, Brooklyn and Connor. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren Davin, Karter and Theo.
He is also survived by his sister Jean Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vic was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Stella, and his parents William and Johanna Kennedy.
Victor’s life was farming. If he wasn’t out doing field work or feeding his cattle, you would find him playing cards with his family and neighbours. Aside from his hard work, he and Stella had such a passion for dancing and travelling whether it was a day trip or a long trip to the Yukon. He drove school bus for a number of years, and had such a positive impact on the students that grew to know and love him. He enjoyed socializing with friends at the Moosomin and Fairlight Drop In, and always looked forward to his daily coffee friends. He loved and took great pride in his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always interested in their activities and encouraging them.
Funeral service was held at 11:00 on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Carscadden Funeral Home in Moosomin with Sr. Anna Aulie officiating. Interment took place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Fairlight.
In lieu of flowers can be made to Fairlight Catholic Cemetery or to Moosomin & District Health Care Foundation Long Term Care in memory of Victor Kennedy.
Memorial tributes can be made to the Moosomin and District Healthcare Foundation-Long Term Care or Fairlight Roman Catholic Cemetery.
