Marion Lorraine Haug passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Yorkton, SK on Saturday, March 12, 2016. She was born on October 13, 1933, the daughter of Frederick and Elva Plewes of the Stanley School District, near Moosomin, Saskatchewan.

Marion was predeceased by her parents; brother, Garth; sister, Vaila (and her husband, Merv Brown); brother, Edward (and his wife, Vi). She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas; twin daughters, Marguerite Caldwell and Michelle Haug; son and daughter-in-law, Murray Haug and Maria Bartok; grandsons, Dylan, Mathew and Christopher Haug; her sisters-in-law, Beth Plewes of Moosomin, SK, Frances Haug and Dorothy Henley of Regina, SK as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

After completing high school in Moosomin, she took Psychiatric training Weyburn, graduating in 1955 from the new Valley View Institution at Moose Jaw, where she was employed for a while. In 1957, she went to New Zealand, then Australia where she worked and made many life-long friends. She returned home to be with her critically ill father. Marion obtained employment at the new Psychiatric Centre in Yorkton.

Marion and Tom lived in Yorkton and raised their family there. Marion was an avid reader and appreciated music. She enjoyed baking, gardening, crafts and home-making activities. She took great pleasure in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

By Marion’s request, cremation has taken place and a private cremation committal will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
