Willie Flaman of Whitewood passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the age of 79 years.

William Wenzel Flaman was born in Southey, Saskatchewan in 1937. When he was a young child, his family moved to Wapella.

He met Rita and they were married. They raised their family and farmed by the Pipestone for 40 years until he retired and moved to an acreage just outside of Wapella.

Willie loved the farm and the animals. He especially enjoyed the cattle. Willie was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and volunteered with the community and church. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Willie was predeceased by his parents, Jake and Johanna. He leaves to mourn his memory: his wife Rita; sons Phil, Gregory (Sue), Lyndon and Kelly (Diana); grandchildren Candis, Nicholas, Stephanie, Cassidy, Eric and Danny; brothers Adam, George, Jerry (Josephine), Allan (Diane) and Bobby, as well as sister Darlene (Jim) Hornady.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Willie on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Whitewood, Saskatchewan with the Rev. Fr. Rene Mangahas celebrating. Participating in the mass were: readers, Susan Villeneuve and Ellen Yuhas, Ernie and Dianne Veresh provided the music, eulogy was read by Kelly Flaman, and the urn bearer was Kelly Flaman. Memorial donations in Willie's memory can be made to Whitewood Community Health Centre, Whitewood, Saskatchewan. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Whitewood.
