Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, and generous friend.
Olive Leona Hogg, born July 18, 1916 to James and Olive Donald, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2016 at the age of 99 years.
Mom was kind-hearted, had a fantastic sense of humour, loved her music and dancing.
She will be missed by her children Don McGonigal, Elaine Jamieson (Gerald), Jessie Whorly (Keray), Heather Shapcott (Barry), her son-in-law Ed Kaczmar, sister Margaret Neyedly, brother Allan Donald (Caroline), sister-in-law Marion Donald, step-daughter Laurel Stephenson, and step-daughter-in-law Bev Hogg.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Olive Donald, husbands William McGonigal and Lawrence Hogg, daughters Ruth McGonigal and Edith Kaczmar, daughter-in-law Margaret McGonigal, granddaughter Brenda Powis, son-in-law Ron Powis, sister and brother-in-law Jean and Robert McGonigal, brother and sister-in-law Gordon and Margaret Donald, brother Leslie Donald, brothers-in-law Frank Neyedly and John McGonigal, step-sons Duane Hogg and Darrel Hogg, step-grandson Derek and step-son-in-law Kenneth Stephenson.
At the time of Leona's passing she had 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 11 great-step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
A special thank you to all Mom's doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Moosomin Long Term Facility. As a family we appreciate all the loving care, especially since many of us lived a long distance away.
