Ken was born on May 14th, 1930 in Welwyn, Saskatchewan to Robert and Mary Welcher (nee Byers). Ken was the second of four children.

Ken started his farming career by working for local farmers until he started farming his mother’s farm.

Ken married Marilyn Joyce Bonar on November 10th, 1962 in Welwyn, SK. From this union, two daughters wore born. Roxanne Elaine in 1964 and Dawna Marie in 1966.

Following retirement from farming, Ken remained busy doing odd jobs for the town, maintaining his yard and the garden but making sure he took time out of his busy day to have coffee at the local coffee shop with the odd game of pool.

Ken was predeceased by his parents Robert and Mary; in-laws Merv and Marg Bonar; brothers in law Alex Frazer, Murray Riddel, Bud Marsh and sister in law Betty Marsh.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Marilyn; daughters Roxanne (Michael Brolund) and Dawna (Bob Langley); grandchildren Curtis and Chelsey Brolund & Ashton and Tanner Kingdon; his older sisters Betty Riddell in Saskatoon and Shirley Frazer in Calgary and brother Bill (Ruth) in Roblin as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who were all very special to him.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 22nd, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity United Church, Welwyn, SK with Dawn Wilson, officiating. Interment was held at Welwyn Cemetery.
