It is with deep sadness and aching hearts that the family of Jonathon “JR” Rudil Richter announce his tragic passing near his farm April 2 ,2016.

JR was born in Moosomin Hospital on September 26, 1974. He attended Rocanville School, graduating in 1992. He worked for Jim Martin Livestock, the RM of Rocanville, Pool Livestock, and Precision Drilling. Cattle farming was his passion, and in 1996 he purchased his first piece of land north of Welwyn where he raised cattle and resided until his passing.

Jonathon loved the serenity of nature. Touring through cattle or moving his herd to greener pastures on quads with friends, topped off with a wiener roast at the end, was a day well spent.

Before calving season each year, the family got together for the yearly sausage making of which Jonathon was the master of smoking. Although Jonathon wasn’t the type to be the center of attention, Christmas and birthdays were a time to play practical jokes, never knowing what to expect from him. Evenings, and the end of the day were often spent taking a drive on the back roads around his farm to enjoy what nature had provided.

Jonathon was predeceased by his father Bill, grandparents Wanda and Rudolf Steinke, Emil and Julie Anne Richter, nephew Chase Lamb and Uncle Hebert and Uncle Irvin Richter.

Jonathon will be sadly missed by his mom Frieda, brother James (Donna) Richter, Sister Laurel (Brad) Lamb; nephews Braden Richter, Carter and Mason Lamb and niece Sarah Richter, aunts, uncles, special cousins, friends, and his loyal companion Shadow.
