Margaret Jean Swanston was born April 24, 1938 on the Swanston Family Farm near Welwyn, SK, the fourth child of Jean and Basil Swanston.

She started her education at Cailmont Country School and graduated in 1956 from Welwyn School.

Margaret continued her education at the Wheat City Business College in Brandon, MB working one year with Binkley Motors in Brandon. In 1958 she became employed with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in Saskatoon until returning to Brandon in 1960 to work for the Brandon City Police. She returned to the work force in 1976, working 20 years with The World-Spectator Office.

Margaret married Donald Rodney Lee on May 20th, 1961. They welcomed daughter Heather Dawn in 1962 and son Scott Douglas in 1964. Life was filled with camping, hockey games, figure skating, curling and ball games and keeping involved with community organizations. Retirement brought more time with her beloved grandsons, trips around the world and golfing.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years Rodney; daughter, Heather (Kevin) Wood and their children Tyler (Courtney and Alexis), Mark and Joshua; son Scott (Carla); brothers Donald (Jolayne), Bruce (Sharon); sisters-in-law Grace and Ellen; brothers-in-law Jack (Beatrice), Craig (Beth) and sister-in-law Ellen Lee, special cousin Betty Smart and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Basil and Jean; brothers Edward “Ted”, Robert “Bob” and Herb.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Moosomin and District Health Care Foundation or to the Bethel United Church: Restoration Fund, in memory of Margaret.
