It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roy Ducharme share the news of his passing. On August 12 dad lost his battle with depression at his home in Wapella, Sask.

He was born on July 4, 1951 at the family farm in Ste. Marthe, Sask. He lived the first 18 years of his life on the farm where he learned to work hard and carried that work ethic through the rest of his life.

In 1972 he married Diana Blyth and together they had three children.

In 1986, after the loss of his sister, dad’s nephew Norm came to live with us.  Dad worked away from home on road construction and pipeline but his true passion was carpentry.

His pride showed in everything he built including the home he raised his family in. Over the years he spent time teaching his children and grandchildren how to build and do home improvements. Dad never believed in paying someone to do something for you that you could figure out how to do for yourself.

In his spare time he enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Margaret Ducharme, sister Angeline Sadler and nephew Arthur Ducharme. He leaves to mourn his children Cassandra (Blair) Beutler, Adrian (Aimee) Ducharme, Medora Ducharme and nephew Norman Ducharme;  Grandchildren Blake, Carly, Annabelle, Ashton, Angeline and Ryder; Wife Diana; Siblings Fjlola, Edith, Wilfred (Josie), John (Darlene), Alma (Howard), Leona and Philip; As well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Friday August 19th at Ste. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Rocanville, Sask. Internment at St. Marthe cemetery.  Following the service a barbeque was prepared by dad’s niece Sherry Olafson and served in his yard in Wapella. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
