Ron was born in a little farm house near Welby, Sask. on a nice spring day on March 1, 1936 with Dr. Gilbart from Spy Hill in attendance, the fourth son of seven boys born to Hugh and Rose Gough.

He went to school at Welby and his favorite subject was baseball. He played at noon and finished after school if needed to finish the game. After school, he joined his brothers Harlow and Ben on the little cattle ranch they built in the valley where he spent many years as their Mr. Fix it.

He spent many years as a catcher for local baseball teams.

He loved playing his guitar and played many years with the Starlites and other groups. He played with his brothers at many nursing homes and for local entertainments. Also several times on Profile a local TV show. In later years he enjoyed playing with his brothers at the local jam sessions.

Since he retired from ranching he enjoyed helping his brother Lorne at his garage and meeting all the people that came there. He was a good friend and brother.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Rose Gough; brothers David and George; sister-in-law Helen Gough, Doreen Gough and Beverly Gough and niece Karen Hilgers.

He is survived by brothers Harlow and family, Ben and family, Robert (Shirley) and family and Lorne (Sandra) and family; nephews Brad (Verna) Gough and Dean Gough; great nieces and nephews Tracey Dietrich and family, Warren Hilgers, Rhonda (Justin) Busse and family, Ryan (Rhea) Hilgers and family, Harley (Devon) Story and family and Jorie Gough and many, many friends.
