Lloyd Longman passed away at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre on April 18, 2013.

Lloyd was the youngest child of Guy and Pearl Longman, born on Dec. 23, 1925 on the original Longman homestead in the Municipality of Wallace near Elkhorn, Man.

The family moved closer to Maryfield where Lloyd attended school, and later, worked on the family farm. Lloyd met Freda Dayman when she came to the area to teach at McNaught School. They were married on Oct. 5, 1946 and farmed on the Longman farm in Manitoba.

In 1951, they moved to Maryfield. Lloyd worked at many construction jobs in and out of the community such as the hall, new school, school auditorium, the new rink, No. 16 highway, the highway bridge, and the pipeline. He enjoyed his farming jobs the most -working many years for Penner Farms and helping his son-in-law Bill.

Lloyd was a member of the Maryfield Volunteer Fire Brigade from 1951 to 1975 and belonged to the Curling Club and Agricultural Society.

He loved to travel-Lloyd and Freda enjoyed many trips to various parts of Canada, the U.S.A., and also New Zealand and Australia. In the last while, he enjoyed just going for a drive in the country to check out the crops and the oil activity. When he was unable to get out and about, he greatly appreciated the friends who stopped in for a visit.

Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Guy and Pearl; step-mothers Nellie (Snyder) and Florence (McLean); brother Norris and sister-in-law, Gerry; brother Lyle; brother Gordon; sister Mae and brother-in-law Rodney Christmas; sister Fern and brother-in-law Martin Jensen; sister Joyce and brother-in-law Edgar McAdoo; sister Margaret and brother-in-law Percy Christmas; sister Myrtle and brother-in-law Bruce Sprague; nephew Keith Sprague; his wife's parents, Peter and Ella Dayman; his wife's brothers, George, Lloyd, and Gordon Dayman; his wife's sister Laura Silversides and brother-in-law Clarence Silversides; sisters-in-law, Verna and Muriel Dayman.
