Wanda (Hoehn) Kempin was born March 25, 1916 at Chorzeszow, Poland. She immigrated to Canada as a young girl with her family in August of 1929. They settled in the Brightholm district, near Shellbrook, Sask.

Wanda married Adolf in November, 1938. They resided at Meeting Lake, then Parkside, finally settling in Red Jacket district in 1953. After many years on the farm, Adolf and Wanda moved to Moosomin in 1979.

Wanda remained in Moosomin after Adolf's passing, then as her health faltered, she moved to Broadview Centennial Manor in 2007. She remained there until her passing.

They raised 13 children: 12 sons, and one daughter. Life on the farm was busy, a lot of hard work, with many tough years, but also a lot of fun, visiting with neighbors and playing cards, and being active with her church community.

Mom was an avid gardener, and grew a huge garden, continuing this practice long after it was needed to feed all those mouths. She always enjoyed feeding a large crowd, and her grandchildren delighted in grandma's baked treats. She had a magical touch with flower gardens, roses in particular.

Wanda was predeceased by her husband Adolf, three sons, Oscar, Arnold, and Ed, her only daughter Irene and two infant grandsons, as well as 10 siblings.

She is survived by her sons Albert (Chris), Erwin (Sandy), Rudolf (Susan), Karl (Vera), Willie (Marla), Bruno (Editha), Fritz (Bonnie) Eric (Susan) Herb (Peggy); son-in-law Jim Wrubleski; daughters-in-law Carol Hamer and Donalda Kempin. She is also survived by her sister Hilda, 34 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
