Joyce was born on Feb. 19, 1915 in Bifrost Municipality and died Dec. 10, 2012.

On June 25, 1940, she married Cliff Harper. They lived in Beresford Lake, Man. and managed a General Store for Leith Campbell.

In February of 1942, Cliff and Joyce moved to Bissett, Man. to work in Campbell's store. In April of 1964, they moved to Welwyn and purchased a General Store from brother-in-law and sister, Joe and Lauretta Marsh. Orville joined them in the store business in 1968. Cliff and Joyce managed the store until Cliff's passing in 1981. Joyce continued to help in the business.
Joyce had a very strong faith in God and was a dedicated member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Rocanville. She rarely missed a Sunday, in fact, drove to church long after her family wished she would not drive.

Joyce liked gardening and especially her flowers. She enjoyed cooking, curling, fishing and playing cards, especially bridge. She enjoyed and excelled in outdoor shuffling in Texas and she had many trophies to prove it! She loved to spend time at the rink watching her boys play hockey. She was a dedicated member of WI, Belles and Beaus, and the CWL in Rocanville. She loved her family and dinner get-togethers.

Cliff and Joyce spent a couple of winters in Florida before deciding to become winter Texans in Weslaco, Texas. After Cliff's passing, Joyce continued to travel south for the winter until 1988. Joyce was a "winter Texan" for 18 years, driving herself for the last 10. Frances and Henry took her back for a two-week visit on her 80th birthday. A volume of stories derived from her trip-the best one was when she ran the border-when she finally stopped for the border police, "No, problem officer, I am just looking for the border." "Lady you just ran the border three miles back. Did you not hear the sirens?" "No, I'm deaf too!"

Joyce moved to Harmony Place in 1981. In the fall of 2008, she moved to Country Retirement Suites in Moosomin.

In December 2008 she moved to Lakeside Nursing Home in Wolseley.

In the spring of 2009 she became a resident of Crocus Cove in Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin, where she resided until her passing.

She was predeceased by her husband Cliff; sister and brother-in-law Frances and Walter Harrington; brothers Tony, Charlie and Frank.

She is survived by son: Orville (Phyllis); daughter Frances (Henry); grandchildren: Trent (Tera) Harper; Tanis (Darcy) Peppin, Terri (Justin) Logan; Great-grandchildren Kyle Logan, Jordan Peppin, Sierra Logan and Toryn Harper.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Rose Rudnicki, Marie Rudnicki, Hilda Rudnicki and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
