Gary Andrew was born July 22, 1937 on the family farm in the New Hastings District, to Andrew and Vera Moffatt. He was raised on the farm along with his three brothers, John, Bill, and Ivan.

In 1959 he married Gail Sharon Bain, together they raised two children, Susan and Joel.

Gary started his working career at Trans Canada Pipeline, soon after he went into business with Ray Graham, building houses. Along the way he purchased Moosomin Ready Mix, and also worked a small farm that he had acquired. Gary ended his working career back doing what he loved—carpentry!

Gary belonged to the Moosomin Fire Department, Moosomin Elks Club, and The Royal Canadian Legion, in his younger years. He spent countless hours doing volunteer work.

Family was everything to Gary. Together, Gary and Sharon hosted many family holidays and events. Sunday brunches were always special with Papa alongside Mama, in the kitchen.

Gary was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Vera, brothers John and Ivan, sister-in-law Sandy, father and mother-in-law Jim and Ethel Bain, and nephew Wade Moffatt.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon, daughter Susan and her husband Brian, and by his son Joel. By grandchildren, Rob, Shannon, Breanna, Jenny, Eden, Megan, and Emma. By great-grandchildren, Keanna, Kaenan, Kashton, Ella, Sadie, Clara, Peyton, Kaidence, Carston, Blakely, and Myah. By his brother Bill and sister-in-law June, sister-in-law Donna, brother and sister-in-law Doug and Diane, along with many nephews and nieces.

A life well lived!

A celebration of life was held on February 7, 2019, at St. Albans Anglican Church, with Sheilagh Garrett officiating. Burial took place at the Moosomin South Cemetery.

Memorial tributes may be made to Pipestone Kinability Center, or South East Integrated Care Center, both in Moosomin.

I felt your touch in the sun today as its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace
And my spirit soared high.
