Lena passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on January 8, 2019 at the Southeast Integrated Care Center surrounded by her family.

Lena was born in Brandon on April 5, 1919 to Anne and John Szafron. In 1925, the family moved to Burrows, SK where her father was the section foreman and a farmer. Lena and her sister Mary enjoyed going to Brandon on the train for groceries on a regular basis when they were teenagers in the ‘30’s. She attended school at Burrows and Rosa Glen.

Lena and her two sisters Mary and Ann worked in Kamloops, BC and Thunder Bay, ON in the ‘40’s. On October 2nd, 1944, Lena married William Clark. They farmed for thirty-four years before retiring to Wapella. Family gatherings with the Clark’s and Szafrons were often; lots of laughs, meals and good times. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends, cooking, travelling, playing cards, the Wapella Happy Go Lucky Club and the Moosomin Drop-In Center. She was actively involved with the United Church both in Wapella and Moosomin.

Willie passed away on August 15, 1993. In 1997, Lena moved to Regency Court in Moosomin and enjoyed living there until 2008 when she moved back to Wapella. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and all the activities at the Happy Go Lucky Club.

She was predeceased by her parents, Annie and John; mother and father in-law, Ida and John Clark; husband Willie; son Ken; daughter Shirley; son-in-law, Dan Garvey; two sisters and five brothers.

Lena will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Darlene (Bill) Thomson, daughter-in-law, Bernice Clark; grandchildren, Terrie (Dan) Davidson, Dawson and Carter; Leanne (Cameron) Holloway, Riley and Ashley; Corey (Tammy) Garvey, Zachary and Lexi. She will also be remembered by her brothers George and Joe and sister-in-law Joan and many nieces and nephews.
