On June 4, 2019 our very beautiful and stoic mother passed away peacefully at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre with family by her side.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Alex Addison, grandson Brody Parker, parents Clarence and Mary McAuley, brother Doug McAuley, mother and father-in-law Albert and Lila Addison, sister-in-law Myrtle Miller, and brother-in-law Don Henson.

A celebration of mom’s life was held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the McAuley Rink. Many happy memories were shared. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter Kim Huberdeau (Hank), daughter Wanda Parker (Allan), son Darren Addison (Shannen), grandchildren Michael Huberdeau (Trisha), Jordan Huberdeau, Breanne Huberdeau (Gareth), Payton Parker, Calen Addison, Ryan Addison and four great-grandchildren, Blakely Huberdeau, Huxley Huberdeau, Camden Lewis, Roeyn Lewis, her brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

Mom was born in Moosomin, Sask. but lived most of her life in McAuley, Man. where she and dad raised their three kids, Kim, Wanda, and Darren. Over the years mom cleaned for people and took many kids into her home to be cared for. She served as the Librarian for a period of time and then eventually worked for 14years as Post Mistress for Canada Post. Mom was a hard worker but always had time for visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she absolutely adored.

After Dad’s passing mom was able to live in her home for a couple more years until her health issues no longer allowed her to be there. She went from her beloved McAuley home to the Centennial Manor in Moosomin where she reunited with some of her old McAuley friends. After many lengthy hospital stays it was determined for mom’s health and safety that she be placed in the long term care system. From Broadview to Wolsely she made many friends along the way, but was ultimately very happy to be brought back to Moosomin to what she referred to as her “Forever Home.”

There were so many lessons learned from our mom over the years, but the biggest lesson of all was shown to us in her final days as we sat by her bedside. What could have been one of the most painful and sorrowful of times, she managed to ease our pain by teaching us how to face death with humor, courage, strength and gracefulness, and this is one lesson that we will never forget.

Mom is now free from pain and happy in the arms of her one true love.
