Edwin Norman Bochek, of Maryfield passed away on Friday, July 13, 2013.

He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Mary Bochek and his young son Cole Bochek. Edwin is survived by his wife of 45 years Paulenna (nee Schroeder), children Dale (Debbie) Bochek, Ryan (Gwen) Bochek, and Andrea (Jody) Kerr, and grandchildren Kyle, Ashley, Brett Bochek and Conner, Zoe, Alyssa Kerr.

Ed farmed the family farm in the Maryfield area and together with his wife raised their family in the community of Maryfield. In Ed's youth, he enjoyed participating in football, hockey, baseball, track and field and curling.

Later in Ed's life, he continued enjoying sport by coaching baseball and hockey, being an umpire and acting as the president of minor baseball for several years. Ed was an involved parent when he watched his children play hockey, do Karate, and figure skate.

His family was one thing that he was most proud of and his joy was increased when he could travel around to his grandchildren's various sporting activities. Ed also took pride in his fruit trees and coin collecting.

Ed became ill in May and was diagnosed with liver cancer in June. Ed lost his battle peacefully with his family to support him.

Funeral service was held in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Fairlight on Friday, July 19.
