Ron was born December 9, 1944 in Scott, Sask. to Perry and Doris Muir. At an early age the family moved to St. Louis, Sask. where Ron grew up and took his schooling.

Ron was a humble man, a regular guy and very easy going. He cared deeply for his family, loved to laugh, was always smiling, and always ready to help if you needed a hand. He was a journeyman machinist for IMC/Mosaic, spending 35 years at the potash mine K2.

He loved life and was game to try everything from flying lessons to scuba diving. He enjoyed camping with his family, biking with his wife, snowmobiling with his buddies and singing in the church choir. His family and friends miss him every day.

Ron is survived by his wife Mildred of 49 years, his son Tim (Jackie) Muir of Hussar, Alta., Tyler Muir Teagan and Jake, Joe Muir, Dawson Broland, Andre (Ashley) Cutter and family, son Chris (Lynn) Muir of Hanna, Alta., Cassie (Jon)Vosloo, Jessie Muir, daughter Penny (Craig) Olafson, and Brody of Langenburg, Sask.

He is also survived by his mom, Doris Muir of North Battleford, sister Sandra Long of Borden, Sask., nephew Michael (Annette) Markowski and family, nephew Dwayne Markowski, Amanda, niece Shannon (Ian) Hosegood and boys, brother Raymond (Karen) Muir of Kamsack, nephew Mark, (Sherri) Muir, Sara and Morgan, niece Corinna (Tyler), Maisy, Alli, sister Joyce Wappel (Gary) of North Battleford, niece Melissa (Jerry) and boys, niece Jeanna, sister Janice Zimmerman (Allan) of Camrose, Alta., nephew Levi, niece Janelle, brother-in-law Dennis (Willa) Clarke, niece Denise (Nick) Hudym, Aura Lee, Brandon, (Allisa) and boys.

He is also survived by extended family: Delta Kelly, Brian (Renee) Kelly, Anthony (Rosanne) Kelly and family, Blake (Tanis) Kelly and family, Patrick (Brenda) and family, Craig (Beth) and family.
Ron was predeceased by his father-in-law Clifford Clarke, his dad, Perry Muir, step-father-in-law, Maurice Kelly, brother-in-law Bill Long, uncle James Muir, nephew, William Clarke.
Ron passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2013. Funeral service was held at St. Paul's United Church, Rocanville, on Wednesday, July 10 with Rev. Delta Kelly officiating. Interment was in the Webster Cemetery, Rocanville.
