Alice Beatrice McCaw was born August 12, 1930 at the Thompson farm near McAuley, Manitoba to parents John L. and Frances Alice Paterson. She was a younger sister to Rob, Maddy, Pat, Jean, and Evelyn and an older sister to Tom and Phyllis.

Bea's schooling started in 1937 at the New Hastings country school. Growing up she was an avid ball player and an excellent runner which won her many races at the local sports days. After finishing school, she obtained her Nurses Aid status.

She married Dan McCaw on July 25, 1951 and they resided in Weyburn where she worked in the Psychiatric Hospital. They then moved to Whitewood where they farmed and she worked at the Whitewood Hospital. In 1962 they purchased a section of land in the Red Jacket area and named their new home "McCaw's Little Bar D Ranch." Together they worked hard and raised excellent beef. Bea could throw bales and brand calves as good as any man. She also taught many nieces and nephews to swim in the dugout.

On November 24, 1968, Dan and Bea were blessed with a daughter, Terri. They sold the ranch in 1976 and moved to Moosomin. In her years in Moosomin, she helped Dan with his grocery delivery business and ran a small jean shop. She coached ball, was a member of St. Alban's Anglican Guild, the Royal Canadian Legion and worked for Homecare until she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing.
Dan passed away in 1996 and as time went on she became a companion to Oscar Mitchell. They shared a passion for growing beautiful flowers and traveling to many places, including Ireland.

Bea was a fiercely independent, hard working, honest and kind person, always willing to lend a hand. She had a compassion for people that led her to a lifetime of caring for others and she touched the lives of many. We will all miss her wonderful spirit.

Bea leaves to mourn her daughter Terri (Darrin) Parker, granddaughters Cassandra and Morgan, great-grandson Hunter, sister Evelyn Anaka of Saskatoon, brother Tom Paterson of Whitewood, brother-in-law Tony Topinka of Whitewood, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, John L. (Jack) and Francis Alice Paterson, her husband Daniel, her companion Oscar Mitchell, her brothers: Bob (Muriel) Paterson and Maddie (Annette) Paterson; her sisters: (Pat) Muriel (Russell) Carswell, Jean (Arnold) McCaw and Phyllis Topinka and brother-in-law Peter Anaka.

Funeral service was held from the G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Moosomin, on Wednesday, July 24 at 2 p.m. Interment was in Moosomin South Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Bea. Email or sign the online book of condolences at www.carscaddenfuneralchapel.com.
