Irene Magnusson of Moosomin passed away July 22, 2013 at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre at the age of 95.
Annie Irene Magnusson was born April 26, 1918 to parents David and Christy Brown. She was the 10th of 11 children and they were raised on the farm in the Valleyview District.
On Sept. 30, 1938 she married Eyolfur Freeman Magnusson, and they farmed in the Holar District where they raised five children.
She was predeceased by her parents and all 10 of her siblings, by her husband Freeman and sons Cecil and Allan.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: son Carlyle (Sylvia), daughter-in-law Lorna, daughter Florence (Ed) Neufeld, and son Ron (Brenda).
Grandma was special to her grandchildren: Charlene (Jeff) Protz, Michael (Lynne) Magnusson, Melissa (Bruce) Szmutko, Anita Magnusson, Curtis (Michelle) Magnusson, Andy (Bonita) Neufeld, Ron (Raylene) Neufeld, Christy Neufeld, Natalie (Jared) Olson, Ashley (Jennifer) Neufeld, Kenton (Chelsea) Magnusson and Lindsay (Jairo) Hernandez.
Irene had 21 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held July 26, 2013 from Tantallon United Church with Dawn Wilson officiating. Following interment at Holar Cemetery, the Tantallon Rink Ladies provided lunch.
Pallbearers were: Charlene Protz, Michael Magnusson, Curtis Magnusson, Christy Neufeld, Ashley Neufeld and Kenton Magnusson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moosomin South East Integrated Care Centre (Activity Centre) or to Holar Cemetery C/O RM of Spy Hill.
