Melvin, age 89 years, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 in Moosomin, SK.

He was born on August 2, 1931 in the Vandura farm home to Neil and Mamie (Potter) McDougall. Melvin married Jean Williamson on July 20, 1954 and they enjoyed married life for 66 years.

Melvin and Jean happily worked together and raised their six daughters at Vandura.

In the spring of 1977 they moved to Moosomin. Their home was a place of love and hospitality. Melvin had a deep love for God and lived for truth. He was a wonderful example to his family and many others.

Melvin and Jean moved from their acreage to a condo in Moosomin in December of 2015.

Due to failing health, they moved to care homes in Broadview in September of 2019. They spent their last months together in the Moosomin Care Home.

Melvin had a special way of making all of his daughters and their families feel very loved. He had a big smile and caring manner towards all who he crossed paths with.

He was predeceased by his parents Neil and Mamie (Potter) McDougall and step-mother Mabel; his sister Norma (Willie) Ross; brothers, Bob (Ruth), Hugh (Ivy), Roy (Joyce), and Bill (Dell); and sisters-in-law Elsie McDougall and Yvonne Williamson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Jean; his daughters, Marilyn (Bob) Livingston, Eleanor (Keith) Byers, Evelyn (Stan) MacMillan, Doreen (Colin) Moe, Janice (Steve) Sinclair, and Loralee (Ron) Mack; his brother Don McDougall; brother-in-law Don Williamson, step family, twenty grandchildren; thirty two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; cousins and a host of friends. A Private Family Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 1 pm. A public graveside service was held at South Cemetery, Moosomin, at 2:45 pm.
