It is with sadness for our loss but gratitude for her life, that Mildred’s family announces her passing on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Her passing has left a gap in our lives that we will strive to fill with the wonderful memories she left us of a life well and fully lived.

She was predeceased by her husband Lorne (2000); parents Fred and Eva Cudmore; brother Ken Cudmore; sister Iveh Riddell; great-grandchildren Alexandra Kalaman and Benjamin Wilson; son-in-law Terry Yaremchuk; as well as Lorne’s family parents Harvey and Sarah; siblings May (Percy), Albert (Aura), Margaret (Carly) and Tom. Left to cherish and honour Mildred’s memory are her children Janice (Ed) Kalaman, Norma (Ken Walters) Wilson and Grant (Sherry) Wilson; cherished grandchildren Christina (Jeff) Nelson, Todd (Lesley) Wilson, Erin (Josh) Graff, Sheldon (Christine) Wilson, Ryan (Sarah) Kalaman and Andrea (Josh) Kosior; precious great-grandchildren Addisen and Aiden Nelson, Reagan, Avery and Brielle Wilson, Rachel and Alyssa Wilson, Arwyn Graff, Kenzie-Lyn, Kaitlyn and Jaxson Kalaman, and Marek Kosior; special cousin Ella (Dwayne) Bristow, and special friends she cherished dearly.

Mom loved people and people loved her. She was happiest gathering her family and friends around her, making Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries so special; in fact, she made all events memorable. Mom had a very strong bond with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren but her strongest bond was with our dad. Her quiet faith saw her through life’s challenges. Mom was a very strong and resilient woman who dealt with tragedy and struggles with courage and determination. She was the foundation of our family who provided encouragement and guidance in a loving and thoughtful manner. Until the end, she continued to teach us lessons not so much by what she said but by how she lived her life.

A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life to remember Mildred and the beautiful person she was, was held at the Wawota Town Hall on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2 pm. To view a livestream version of the service, please log onto www.livememorialservices.com/Home/ServiceDetail/15335. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Lorne at the Wawota Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many friends who supported Mom and our family through her amazing journey. We would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Villa for the exceptional care and compassion you showed to our Mom and to us.
