Garry Andre DeRoo

Garry Andre DeRoo passed away peacefully in his sleep at home of a cardiac arrest on September 10, 2021 at the age of 63 years. Garry was predeceased by his parents Andre and Mary (Allemeesch) DeRoo; and sister-in-law Dree DeRoo. Garry will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife Jan DeRoo; step-daughter Katja (Chad) McCord and their children: Julia, Creedon, Keelyn, Shanelle; step-son Anders (Michelle) Wheeler and their children: Roch, Adelle, Lilah; three brothers: Dennis DeRoo, Wayne (Carol) DeRoo, Dean (Cheryl) DeRoo; Uncle Lawrence (Marilyn) Allemeesch; numerous relatives and friends.
Garry will be remembered for being a kind, gentle man who loved unconditionally like his Lord and Savior, Jesus. He loved to tease, especially his wife, Jan, and the family. His fondest memories were of time spent with his grandchildren, family gatherings and visits with close friends. He enjoyed helping others and sharing how Jesus made a difference in his life’s journey. His all-time favorite times were those spent fishing with family and friends.
Garry worked over 35 years with the Department of Highways at various locations throughout the province of Saskatchewan. He retired from this shortly after moving to Nipawin. Garry liked to keep busy and enjoyed working at various places within the community of Nipawin and area: No Frills; Handi-Works; Ice & Water; caretaker at schools in Nipawin and White Fox.
Garry will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends. Comfort comes from knowing that Garry is now enjoying eternity with Jesus and has received his heavenly inheritance.
A funeral service was held in Nipawin, and Garry was laid to rest at Fairlight Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial tributes in Garry’s memory may be made to Calvary Temple Education Association Inc., 963 Erinwood Drive SE, Calgary AB, T2B 2W4.
