It is with deep regret that we announce our loss of wife and mother Mary Aileen McLeod on October 3, 2021 at the Southeast Integrated Care Center, Long Term Care, Moosomin, Saskatchewan.

Mary is predeceased by her father and mother Samuel and Jessie Lamont, her brothers Thomas, George, William, Joe, Archie and James, sister Ann and son Donald Wayne McLeod (Janice).

Mary was born on March 7, 1936 in Manson, Manitoba. She grew up on the family farm and always spoke fondly of the experiences and memories created there despite the hard times of that era.

In 1963, she met and later married the love of her life Donald Frederick McLeod. They were married on March 26, 1964. They raised five children together.

Mary is survived by husband Don McLeod, Rose Marie Gnos (Peter), Barbara McLeod (Dano), Debbie Meyers (Danny) and Darryl McLeod (Donna).

As Mary’s children grew up she shared her cooking, gardening, canning and baking skills with them. Her cinnamon buns were out of this world! She was exceptionally skilled at knitting and was known to stitch a few quilts with her mother and sister. Mary was an accomplished curler, winning many trophies. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo and camping with family and friends. After the children grew up, Mary and Don travelled from the East to West Coast of Canada and as far north as the Arctic Circle. Travels in the USA included Florida, South Dakota and Alaska. She spoke warmly of these adventures.

Mary leaves behind her eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
