Larry passed away at Moosomin Hospital Thursday, December 2, 2021 after a short hospital stay, during his Cancer Journey, with family by his side. He asked that this be his message—I didn’t die, I just changed my address.

Larry was born at home March 28, 1950 due to a blizzard and the doctor didn’t get to the farm for two days. Thank goodness for a midwife a mile away who came to the delivery. Larry didn’t do anything low key, it was always with pizzaz and excitement. He was still telling jokes to the nurses right to the last few days. He got such super care because of his attitude and gift to gab. He was the fourth child of Lucien and Elina Naviaux.

He was predeceased by his father, Lucien, and mother, Elina; step-father Jules Martin; sister Dorothy Bilinsky and brother-in-law Ron Bilinsky; sister-in-law Mathilde Naviaux.

He will be forever missed by his spouse Glenda Johnston; son Bradley (Krista) and children Braden Liboiron (Nicole), Jada and Draven; son Michael; step-father-in-law Roy Johnston, step-son Greg Johnston and step-grandchildren Lane (Mariah), Jordan (Justin), Cody (Callie), Shae-Lynne, Hannah; Siblings Rose (Lloyd) Russill; Marcel Naviaux (Lucille); Marlene (Bill) Eagle; numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry attended Edenvale Country School and Redvers School. Larry started working in the oil patch at the tender age of 17 and wears the title of being the youngest and the oldest in that field, still working at age 71. He lived his entire life at the Naviaux Century Farm at NE 29-6-32 W1 except for about 10 years while working oil in Alberta, Wyoming and other areas. After his father’s death in 1976 Larry came back to farm, continuing to work oil as well. Many of the young men around Redvers worked with him over the years. He was involved with the sporting events of his children. He could be seen in the crowd watching his grandchildren as they grew to be in sporting events. Camping and socializing around a campfire was a highlight for him. He was a very social person and could visit with anyone. Going on a warm holiday during the winter was a must for him as well. He did this with a variety of friends and family. He has touched the hearts of many, many people. We are all so blessed to have numerous great memories of Larry. He would be ever so pleased if you would have a shot to Celebrate His Life and your memories of him.

A Celebration of Larry’s life was held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Redvers, Sask. with Reverend Ronald Andree and Reverend Franklin Emereuwa presiding. A time of lunch and fellowship followed in the church basement. For those who were unable to attend the service in person, a recording of the service will be available on Larry’s tribute page for 60 days.
