It is with sadness that we announce, after a lengthy illness, the peaceful passing of Teddy (Ted) Gerald Stremel on January 25, 2022 at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin, Saskatchewan.

Dad was born on February 14, 1935 in Spalding, Saskatchewan. He lived in Rivers, Manitoba for a time working as a short haul truck driver. He then married and moved to Elkhorn, Manitoba where he spent his life raising his family, working as a farmer, spending 40 years as a volunteer fire fighter and working at and devoting his talents to the Manitoba Antique Automobile Museum. Dad was a hard worker, a jokester, a family man and a passionately talented musician. He loved farming, collecting toy farm implements, organizing and attending music jams and working on antique cars and farm implements. His final days were spent reminiscing with family about his wonderful life and the people he loved, and we take great comfort in knowing that Dad is at peace.

Ted was predeceased by his loving wife Marilyn and son Terry. He is survived by his children Derek (Pam), Shelley and Elaina; grandchildren Danielle, Mitchell and Emily; and great-grandchildren Ceile and Thorsten. He also leaves to mourn, his sister Mary, countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all adored and will fondly remember Ted, and his dear friends at the Sunrise Villa in Maryfield where he lived in his final years.

We wish to thank the exceptional nursing staff in the Moosomin, Wawota and Redvers hospitals. We also wish to thank the staff at the Villa who cared for Dad over the years—he loved you all.

A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer when capacity limits allow, with the details to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Ted’s memory to the Wallace District Fire Department.
