Wanda Louise Bjornson passed away at the age of 87 on February 21, 2022 at the Regina Pasqua with Karen and Louis by her side. Wanda will lovingly be remembered by son Brian (Angie) Bjornson; daughter Karen (Louis) Hebert and her grandchildren Kristjan (Theresa), great-grandchildren Bentley and Ivy, Kyle (Crystal) Hunter and Kruz, Lisa Taylor (Curtis) Greyson, Gavin and Deacon. Wanda is also survived by her friend Don Eggertson, sister Carol McPherson, brother Ron (Bev) Magnusson, sisters-in-law Doreen Narfason (John MacBeath) and Valdine Bjornson and several nieces and nephews.

Wanda is predeceased by her son David and husband Skuli; her parents Walter and Margaret Magnusson; in-laws Skuli and Freda Bjornson, Sylvia and Vern Shabazian, Signy and Dave Louks, Del Narfason, Ingi Bjornson, nieces Pam and Laura.

Wanda was born on September 26, 1934 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan. She was the oldest of three children, raised on the family farm until the age of 13 when the family moved into town. She graduated from Wynyard composite high school, then attended St. Paul’s School of Nursing. Graduating in May 1956 Wanda started her nursing career in Foam Lake, and worked through to retirement from Moosomin Union Hospital.

Wanda and Skuli wed on June 29, 1957 in Wynyard, residing in Foam Lake where they had David (1958) and Brian (1960). While in Foam Lake Skuli was administrator of the hospital where Wanda nursed. The family moved to Moosomin where Skuli was hospital administrator and Wanda continued nursing. Karen was born in 1962 shortly after moving into the home they built.

When not working or running after her kids, Wanda enjoyed curling, golf, refinishing furniture and travel. Wanda was also very involved in volunteering in the community. She loved to help Louis and Karen on their farm, she especially enjoyed harvest and an annual combine ride. Wanda felt especially blessed for the many memories she was able to make with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wanda will be sadly missed by all, now cherishing every sunset with Skuli and David by her side.
