Found IED Results in Arrest - Swift Current Municipal Detachment

Swift Current Municipal RCMP conducted a condition check for a 17 year old male who was on Probation resulting from a conviction for possession of a weapon (pipe bomb) dangerous to the public. 

Upon attending the residence Police located an Improvised Explosive Device along with some other weapons and a small quantity of Crystal Meth, but the male was not at the residence at the time of the check his device was destroyed with the assistance of the "F" Division Explosive Disposal Unit. 

The 17 year old male was arrested with the assistance of the Swift Current Police Dog Service Section after a short foot chase when he returned to the residence this at approximately 8:45 AM this morning.  
 
This individual will be appearing in Provincial Court at 3:00 PM on 2019-02-26 to answer to the following charges in relation to this incident:
 
1) 3 charges of failing to comply with a sentence or disposition under sec 137 of the Youth Criminal Justice Act,
2) 1 charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose under section 88(2) of the Criminal Code,
3) 1 charge of make/possess explosives under section 82(1) of the Criminal Code, and
4) 1 charge of possession of Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth) under section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
