Saskatchewan ICE lays child pornography charges

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a man from Regina, Saskatchewan with three child pornography related offences. Paul Hector WILSON, age 63, has been charged with the following:

· Possession of Child Pornography – Sec.163.1(4) CC
· Making Child Pornography – Sec. 163.1 (2) CC
· Accessing Written Child Pornography – Sec. 163.1 (4.1) CC

In September 2017 the ICE Unit began investigating the activities of a person who uploaded child pornography to an Internet email account.

The investigation identified a Regina location where the offence occurred.

On October 25 the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at this location where several computers, electronic storage devices, and a cell phone were seized.

On January 10, 2018 Paul WILSON was arrested and held in custody.

He appeared in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Regina at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday January 11, 2017 where he was released on numerous conditions.

His next court appearance is January 25 at 9:30 a.m.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service.

Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
