Gordon was born to Hugh and Mabel Kelly in Esterhazy on February 21, 1950.
Gordon went to school in Hamona, Spy Hill and Rocanville. He worked on the farm with his father until 1970. Gordon married Shirley Parker in 1971. They lived on the farm in Spy Hill until 1974 when they bought Millan Parker’s farm near Welwyn. Gordon lived on the farm south of Welwyn until his passing.

Gordon worked at Poole’s in Rocanville from December 1975 to April 1976 then went to PCS Rocanville in 1978 as a mechanic. Gordon rented out the land at the farm. At PCS Gordon worked in the mill maintenance department until June 1, 1999 when he transferred to underground maintenance. Gordon retired from the mine in November 2003.

He had many hobbies throughout the years: photography, restoring the Model T, building steam engines, gardening, playing the organ, and trapping.
Gordon leaves to mourn his son Brent; his daughter Vickie (Lockie MacDougall); and his grandchildren Vanessa Swanston, Nathan and Carly Kelly, and Dylan and Noelle MacDougall.

Funeral service was held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Moosomin on Thursday, July 17, 2014 with Rev. Delta Kelly officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Moosomin.
