It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Melville Victor Felsing announces his passing on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the age of 80 years.

Mel was the second son born to Wilfred and Genevieve Felsing on May 7, 1934 in Watson, Sask. Mel and Bev (Plummer) were married in 1958 in a double wedding ceremony with Gordon and Arkley (Plummer) Felsing. Mel and Bev had four children: Peggy, Valarie, Quinton and Leslie.

Mel worked construction with K1 Mine, South Construction, pushed bush for George and Eddie Springer, and owned and operated his own Caterpillar and truck business. He also worked for the RM of Rocanville operating the road grader for 11 years, and for PCS Rocanville mine for 16 years until he retired in 1997.

Mel loved his family and enjoyed working in the yard, family vacations, golfing, and restoring two antique cars. One fond memory happened on September 15, 2002 when Mel got a hole-in-one in Miniota, Man.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Beverley, his children: Peggy, Valarie (Brad) Frondall, Quinton, and Leslie Nemeth; grandchildren: Courtney (Ryan) Miller, Jesse and Wyatt Felsing; Nicholas, Dylan (Lily) and Matthew Frondall; and great-grandchildren: Reese and Jack Miller; brother Gordon (Arkley) Felsing; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Genevieve; brother Jock (Adelma); brother-in-law Ian (Sharon) Plummer; and son-in-law James Nemeth.

A funeral service was held at G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel in Moosomin, Sask. on Monday, July 28, 2014.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association in memory of Mel.
