Ruth was born on June 4, 1941 to Ivan and Bessie Jamieson on their farm near McAuley, Manitoba. She was the fifth child out of ten, their first daughter.

Ruth met Gil at McAuley and they married in January 1959. They lived in Regina where Tammy, Cindy and Rick were born. They moved to Moosomin in 1967 and seven years later Murray was born.

Ruth’s working career included Manitoba Telephone, Matheson’s Upholstery, Johnson’s Clothing and Moosomin Union Hospital.

Ruth and Gil parted ways in 1998 and she retired in 2002. Ruth and Ed Liesch were good friends which turned into a long relationship.
