Chad Kennedy passed through Moosomin on May 13 on his walk across Canada, Sea to Sea for PTSD.

“I’m doing this walk to raise awareness for post-traumatic stress amongst our emergency services, and our military families,” said Kennedy.

“First and foremost I’m trying to find myself through this walk, and find my purpose, and really inspire other people to reach out for help when they need it.”

The walk focuses on providing awareness of mental health initiatives within the Emergency Service and Military communities throughout Canada.

Kennedy was happy that residents from the community welcomed him into Moosomin.

“It’s always amazing when we have our emergency services and our veterans walk beside us and that’s what it’s all about. It’s amazing and a great community.

“Thank you to your community, it’s amazing, the hospitality is fantastic.”

Kennedy started his walk on April 2 in B.C., and plans on reaching St. Johns, Newfoundland within 30 weeks.

Through his walk he hopes to break the stigma associated with PTSD amongst first responders and military communities.
