The Moosomin Thrift Store made a $10,000 donation to STARS Air Ambulance last week.

Kathy Skomar, Community Engagement Officer with STARS, was in Moosomin on Friday to accept the donation.

Skomar says Moosomin is such a generous community that she has been in Moosomin three times in the last eight months to accept donations for STARS.

The money donated by the thrift store will stay in Saskatchewan, says Skomar, and will go toward critical care operations, such as taking care of the STARS helicopters, and simulator training.

“Our job is to always be ready for the people who are facing the most urgent life-threatening health emergency,” says Skomar. “This donation allows us to be there for the next patient no matter where they work, live or play. It’s never too far.”
