Plans for Burger Week 2025 were discussed at the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce meeting on Wednesday.

Previously, Burger Week was hosted by Sharpe’s Crop Services, but the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce will be organizing the event this year.

“The Chamber of Commerce will be organizing Burger Week this year and based on feedback from a few of the businesses that were involved last year, we want to do it over two weeks,” said Kevin Weedmark at the Chamber meeting Wednesday. “So we’ll start it on February 17 and run it until February 28.

“The problem other years is when we had it just running over four days from a Tuesday to a Friday or a Saturday, people were trying to fit all the burgers in and having two at lunch and two at supper and kind of giving up after that. We thought if we spread it out a little bit longer, it would give people a chance to try the burgers without trying to squeeze them all into one week.

“Most of the businesses from last year are in again.
“One thing I’ll throw out there—one of the restaurants had suggested that we could have some sort of recognition or trophy for a restaurant to put on display if they are the winner.

“So everyone think about it and let us know what you think what would be a good recognition for whatever the winning restaurant is.
“And there will be more details coming out about that in the next little while.”

During Burger Week, local restaurants in the Moosomin area come up with unique burger creations and offer them to the public for a limited amount of time. People get to vote on their favorite burger.

Last year 2,776 burgers were sold between nine restaurants in Moosomin, Fleming and Rocanville.
