Final numbers for the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign weren’t available at the end of last Friday, with sales still taking place on the weekend, but Moosomin was heading into the weekend with the second highest number of sales in Saskatchewan, and 11th overall across Canada.

Early sales figures had Moosomin in top place after two days of sales, but by Friday morning, the local Tim Hortons had slipped into second place. Estevan moved to the top of the list with $24,241.38 raised with Moosomin having collected $22,795.69 in sales. The Humboldt location rounded out the top three with $19,804.83 raised.

“My team and I are overwhelmed with the support we’ve had so far,” said Moosomin Tim Horton’s owner Greg Crisanti. “Moosomin and area keeps our ovens warm and our hearts full with every cookie sold year over year! We’re proud to be part of such a “sweet” and supportive community! Thank you for keeping our title alive—one cookie at a time and we can’t wait to share the results.”

Crisanti was confident heading into the weekend, with one significant purchase already made since the Friday morning numbers were released.

This year’s recipient is MacLeod Elementary School, who plan on using the money raised to develop a playground on the south side of the school. The new playground will also be available for those attending the Play Fair Daycare, which was last year’s Smile Cookie beneficiary that raised a provincial record of $45,000.
All proceeds from the special cookie sales go toward the designated beneficiary, making the Smile Cookie campaign a very popular week in Moosomin. The Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign wrapped up yesterday, on May 4.
